1. What is a I-Lead Conversation

I-Lead Conversation is a thought provoking leadership platform that is created to facilitate authentic conversation amongst young entrepreneurs and philanthropists. The primary intention of this programme is to inspire entrepreneurs and philanthropists to create sustainable solutions to the challenges we are facing in Africa, to recognise leadership potential, to share success stories experiences for growing lasting organisations and businesses and to celebrate innovative leadership and entrepreneurship ideas.

I-Lead Conversation seeks to create a platform for Practical, Interactive, Innovative, Insightful and Inspirational leadership conversations that will address leadership challenges faced by young people. I-Lead Conversation empowers, inspires and influences young leaders to translate their ideas into effective and productive enterprises.

2. Objectives of I-Lead Conversation

The main objectives of i-Lead Conversation are:

  • To create a platform that will promote a dynamic interaction and integration between Youth Development Organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations, Entrepreneurs and social Entrepreneurs.
  • To empower young people to realise their full potential and enhance young people’s role as active citizens within their respective communities.
  • To assist young people to translate their ideas into effective and productive Non-Governmental Organisations and Profit Making Enterprises.
  • To create a leadership learning reference group for young and emerging leaders.

4. I-Lead Conversation Learning Approach

In order to provide a broader spectrum of learning preferences, as well as to ensure that learning and applications are optimised, a variety of approaches are used in equipping leaders. These will include among others the following approaches:

  • Well-structured conversations with specific outcomes in mind;
  • Invited presentations/lessons from prominent business leaders and academics; and
  • Co-learning through sharing of organisational and entrepreneurial experiences.
