I Am Responsible For My Life by Mr Leroy Tau
We live in times of moral degeneration a dispensation of people who lack self-drive a time where individuals have forsaken the true value of who they are and what they are about. We live a generation of people who are just satisfied in being in the back seat people who do not want to take charge and initiatives for their own lives and take responsibility for their very existence.
We live in a generation of people who only live for today without any passion hope and aspiration for the future we live in a generation of people who have a blame mentality where instead of taking responsibility they often point fingers and shift the blame to government, parents, institutions of higher learning, schools and churches and even peer pressure.
A time has come for the African child to pick themselves up and do something with all our gifts, abilities and talents. The late Mr Nelson Mandela said “Our deepest fear is not that we are in adequate but our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure it our strength not our weakness that most frightens us continue quote”. The truth of the matter is that the African child is highly gifted and talented beyond measure and the time for the youth of this continent to arise and shine has come.
Greatness can neither be contained nor can it be restricted. However, due to the level of our laziness and our failure to take responsibility for our lives we end up being at the mercy of others instead of searching deep within ourselves to find that inner greatness that’s in each and every one of us.
With all the educational and technological advantages you have around you, you should be very far with life.
No one is going to make your dreams to come true, no one is going to pay the price of success for you; no one is going to work hard on your behalf. You need to be 100% responsible for your life and use every little opportunity you can get to empower yourself. You need to assume accountability and responsibility for your thoughts and actions and you will be able to live your dreams. The time is now and it is up to you to make the needed impact in your generation.
